Sturgis lost a community leader with the passing of Larry Franks on July 9, 2023. Larry’s contributions to the citizens of Sturgis was great during his 89 years.

The Sturgis Historical Society was one of Larry’s many passions, and he was completely invaluable to the organization as it stands today.

Larry served as the first president of the Sturgis Historical Society. It was his vision to have the Depot moved downtown to preserve, not only a beautiful and historic building, but to make it a home for Sturgis historical information.

Thank you Larry Franks
